With decades of combined experience living, working, and serving in Alaska and around the world, our team knows what it takes to make your mission a success. We are truly an organization by Alaskans, for Alaskans.
Since 2019 Muskox Ministries’ founding members have been serving the missionary community in Alaska. After three years of preparing and planning, interviews with Alaskan missionaries from across the state, and months of time spent in remote parts of Alaska, they realized that no single organization was providing the core logistical needs of Alaska’s dedicated missionaries. In 2023 they set out to do that by founding what is known today as Muskox Ministries. The muskox is a symbol of strength and provision among Alaska Native peoples and all Alaskans. Muskox Ministries embodies this to the missionaries that we support.
The aviation program started with two local pilots, both career commercial pilots, who took their professionalism and experience to Muskox Ministries’ aviation team and set the bar high for safety and efficiency. Since then, the team has welcomed more than 15 additional pilots. The site of Mount Lulu Base Camp was purchased in 2021 near Fairbanks, Alaska. At the time, the base camp consisted of a main residence and several outbuildings. Today the base camp can accommodate nearly three dozen missionaries.
In the fall of 2025 Muskox Ministries acquired over an acre of land at Fairbanks International Airport and began development of the Alaska Mission Aviation Center (AMAC). The facility will be the hub for missionary aviation in the interior and northern parts of the state, along with providing a headquarters for our missionary aviation training program.
Muskox Ministries is a collaborative effort by a team of over 20 people working across various disciplines and with varied experience and specialties, to come up with ideas that truly reach far outside the norm of what’s been done for Alaskan missions in the past. With an extensive background in commercial aviation, outdoor education, small business administration, wilderness survival, backcountry logistics, search-and-rescue, emergency medical services, and Christian ministry and missions, our team can come alongside Alaska’s dedicated missionaries and serve with excellence. Together we’re leading a diverse, inventive, and professionalized missions support organization that is capable of alleviating many of the challenges of living and serving in bush Alaska.
Muskox Ministries has gained partners from across Alaska and the entire nation who see the vision and the need for an efficient, professional, comprehensive, and consistent organization providing logistical support for Alaska's rugged missionaries. Muskox Ministries’ team today looks very different from what it did in 2023, but the values, the mission, and the intense drive to serve Alaskan missionaries is something that has remained constant.
