A beautifully Alaskan place to recharge those who selflessly share God's love.
Mount Lulu Base Camp is five acres of peace and tranquility situated at the edge of tens of thousands of acres of public land and recreation, but just a 20 minute drive on paved roads from Fairbanks.
Mount Lulu Base Camp will feature the Fellowship Lodge, several sleeping cabins and camp sites, an outdoor amphitheater, walking trails, and a 100 mile view of the Alaska Range. Once completed, we expect the base camp to be able to accommodate 70+ missionaries. Laundry facilities, showers, and a large kitchen will make this an all-inclusive stop so that extra expenses and trips into town can be avoided. At nearly 1,500 feet elevation above Fairbanks, the mountainside at Mount Lulu Base Camp receives lots of sunlight year around and sits in much warmer air above the Tanana Valley inversion layer in the winter months. When the valley is shrouded in clouds and humming with mosquitoes, the Base Camp is a sunny and breezy bug-free place.
Once completed, the Base Camp will provide a place for visiting missionary teams to stage on their way to and from remote parts of Alaska. It will also be a place for those who serve full-time in these rural communities to stay while they receive medical care, pick up supplies, or seek God's rest on the mountaintop with their families. Coupled with our aviation and ground transportation programs, we can offer an all-inclusive service to Alaskan missionaries and their families.
