General Description of Duties (This is remote work - Fairbanks locality is not a requirement.)
- Primary responsibility of this position is for locating, developing, writing, submitting, coordinating, and financial reporting of grants for Northern Light Logistics. Tasks are of more than average difficulty and include conferring with organization personnel to establish the scope, objectives, budget, and implementation schedule to process grant proposals in all disciplines to procure external funding.
- Coordinate the evaluation, application process and acceptance process of local, state and federal public funding grants, foundation funding opportunities and cooperative agreements.
- Provides professional and administrative work in researching, identifying, developing, and responding to public and private grant opportunities.
- Provides grant conformity with laws, stipulations, regulations governing contracts, grant monitoring, program and financial reporting.

- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with organization staff and with representatives of other governmental and endowment related agencies; communicate effectively in preparing oral and written reports.

- Ability to generate written documentation in an accurate, concise, legible and timely manner as required by the position.

- Ability to take grant ideas from personnel and translate into format required by grant agencies; read, comprehend, interpret, and apply grant regulations and proposal guidelines; plan, develop and coordinate grant programs.
- Ability to perform grant-related post award functions, including budget and expense analysis; coordinates grant closeout functions as required; including compliance monitoring, programmatic reports, financial status reports, final reimbursement request, purchase order liquidations, and final reporting.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, staff and others.
- General knowledge of governmental accounting and budgetary procedures.
- Establish a grant file and checklist to ensure compliance with programmatic activities.
- Ensuring Fixed Assets have been identified and inventoried.
- Working knowledge of grants and government funding resources; data sources necessary for developing grant proposals.
- Skill in use of computers and various software including Microsoft Office used to perform daily functions of position.
Note: This is a part-time, intermittent volunteer position. Reimbursement for expenses incurred while performing duties as listed above may be approved on a case-by-case basis by the Board of Directors.
